Is in the Church Nullifying the Word of God for the Sake of Tradition?
10/17/09 There has been a lot of buzz about government healthcare reform and its antithesis, the dangers of socialized medicine in America. Thanks to the dumbing down via America’s public schools for many decades, most people regardless of their age have little understanding of free enterprise, capitalism, healthcare, care of the aged and training of the young per the Bible’s instruction. Illiteracy among American’s is growing worse, and that of course, includes biblical illiteracy. It should be obvious that most American’s don’t really care what the Bible says, but for the rest of us, it should be our Anchor as books come and go. Besides THE Book is not going anywhere; it is here for eternity.

Hey Shepherd, Do You Smell Like a Sheep?
8/9/09

I probably smell more like a sheep now than I did two or three years ago. The reason is simple, and I am convinced pastors could learn something from this post.

NOTE: This was written in 1992 and is now Chapter 23 in the book Sheep Tracks, Biblical Insights from a Sheepherder. The theme is just as applicable in 2009 as it was in 1992.

The Church Should Focus on Plan and Plant Rather than Graft and Go
3/17/09. It is no secret that our nation has economic, cultural and spiritual problems of enormous magnitude. Identifying problems is easy. Until we understand what brought us to this point, we will not know what we should do. Oh, if we could be like the “men of Issacar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do” (1 Chron. 12:32). I say it is time for the Church to plan and plant (PNP); it is time for the Church to re-evaluate the “graft and go” (GNG) method of evangelism.

Christians May Need a 70-Year Plan
01/31/09. Christians in America are being held captive in Babylon. That's right, captive in Babylon. Freedom in America is rapidly declining because our U.S. Government is choking the life out of "we the people". Whether the issue is confiscatory taxes, the wickedness of those elites who control public schools, the murder of unborn babies, or other ungodly decisions of the courts that defy the wishes of the people it should be clear to all that we have little choice in such matters.

The Power of Truth and Its Repetition
10/22/08

Stalin said education is a weapon. Hitler said people will believe a lie if you repeat it often enough.

Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31-32)

Should we not teach the truth and repeat it often, especially during the five days a week when children are normally in what we call school?

4/13/08. Blind, and Grinding Grain for the Enemy
The story of strongman Sampson is familiar to most Christians. The short version of his life is that an angel appeared to a barren woman and told her that she would give birth to a son. Among the instructions for the son born to her, Sampson was never to have his hair cut. According to the Scriptures he would grow up to “begin to save Israel from the Philistines.” (Judges 13:5)

11/26/07. Religious Cults and Wannabes
Earl Paulk, leader of a megachurch (cult) in Atlanta has been in the news for many years concerning his sexual sin with members of his congregation. The latest involves news that a paternity test proved he is father rather than supposed uncle of D.E. Paulk who now pastors the church (?).

Home. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)
Church. When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation.
(1 Corinthians 14:26)
Culture. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight.
