These are letters to the editor Craig Mohler of the Monroe Watchman in Union, WV that were not printed. All he censored are not listed here because all were not posted in this blog. This blog format began in February 2011 while all the censored letters were written months and years before that time.

“Questioning?” Sexuality

The following letter to the editor of the Monroe Watchman was written in response to a long letter Emily Winter had written in support of homosexuality.  She titled her letter “It Gets Better.”  Since he didn’t print it, I assume Editor Craig Mohler apparently didn’t like my letter in response to Winter’s.  He is a Democrat and that may be enough to explain why.

Editor,

I read with interest a letter in The Monroe Watchman written by Emily Winter, a graduate of James Monroe High School, and now a graduate student at Boston University School of Public Health.  I appreciate her apparent concern for troubled teens who may become suicidal.  She specifically cited the fact that several young homosexuals across the US have taken their own lives since September, and that discrimination/bullying by others was a factor in causing these suicides.   It just may be a flawed premise to suggest homosexuals who commit suicide do so because they have been bullied.  Is it possible they were confused young people because they are getting so many mixed signals from TV, movies, and school programs about their sexuality?   At the very least we should consider that, just maybe, homosexuality is abnormal.

While claiming to have no personal experience, Winter wrote that she had heard stories from friends in high school, college and in the workplace who are “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Questioning” people.  She acknowledged that there are some good values in small, rural, and largely religious communities, but she also wrote “And in a place like Monroe County, it can be difficult to figure out how to find your place or find your way in a society that may not be fully welcoming of the person you were born to be.”

The tone of Emily Winter’s letter did not suggest she is a hardcore homosexual advocate, but merely one of the many people, especially the young in America today who have bought into the sales pitch of homosexual activists.  Briefly, the propaganda goes like this: Homosexuality is normal and people who disagree are bigoted homophobes. Homosexuals are victims.  They are generous with buzz words like bully, tolerance, welcoming, diversity, affirming, insensitive, bigot, hate speech and homophobe.  Above all, they keep repeating the mantra, “Homosexuals were born that way.”

Winter said people are “born with differing perceptions, philosophies, or preferences.”  Check the definition of “philosophy” and then tell me people are born with one.   Preferences: the truth is that after many studies looking for a genetic cause for sexual preference, or a “Gay gene”, no one has come close to discovering such.  For those who believe there is a Gay gene, I wonder, do they also believe there is a Transgender gene?  Does the guy who swings both ways, as it were, have a Bisexual gene, or is this type behavior of his own choosing?

Even some homosexual activists agree that homosexuality is not normal.  For example, Lesbian author and activist Camille Paglia has stated: “Homosexuality is not ‘normal.’ On the contrary it is a challenge to the norm … Nature exists whether academics like it or not. And in nature, procreation is the single relentless rule. That is the norm. Our sexual bodies were designed for reproduction … No one is born gay. The idea is ridiculous … homosexuality is an adaptation, not an inborn trait.” Source: http://www.traditionalvalues.org/urban/seven.php

The best evidence we have suggests that homosexuality is a choice people make and not a genetically inherited trait.  Troublesome is the fact that too many people readily accept so much deceptive propaganda without searching for the facts.  To her credit, Winter did recommend people seek advice from teachers, a guidance counselor or a pastor.  However the main place she recommends for advice is a web site started by two homosexuals. The web page was called It Gets Better Project, and the title of Winter’s letter was “It Gets Better.”   You tell me, can the fact that practicing homosexual men are apt to die 30 years younger than their heterosexual counterparts be categorized as “It Gets Better?”  Just google “homosexual lifespan” on the Internet for that information.

Considering the fact that homosexuality is likely a choice people make, and the sexual act definitely presents a dangerous health risk, why are there thousands of homosexual clubs in high schools where “questioning” teens are invited to explore their sexuality/gender identity?  Does that not qualify as child endangerment?

Our children need to hear the truth.  All people, including homosexuals deserve some level of respect regardless of the choices they make.  However, since the Garden of Eden man has tried to be his own god while rejecting God’s never-changing Truth.  For those who wish to reject the writings in the Bible, fine, but the prospects of dying 30 years too soon is worth some serious study of the facts.  Two men having sex with one another certainly sounds more dangerous than global warming or secondhand smoke to me.  Truth … common sense …  wisdom … priorities … we have some work to do here!

Interesting, Laughable, Disgusting and Sad

Editor Craig Mohler told me he didn’t publish my letter because of the reference I made about Obama’s church.  And, he also told me that he planned to vote for Obama. (this was in February before primaries and before the Nov 2008 elections)  What can I say: Mohler and a lot of other deceived and/or  ignorant people  put Obama in the White House.

The candidates for the 2008 presidential race are proving to be interesting, laughable, disgusting and sad. Among the top four candidates we have the angry white male candidate, the gender candidate, the skin color candidate, and the Mayberry guy. Two of the four are very likable, and the other two very unlikable. All four have a lust for power, are tax and spend big government liberals.

Obama is charming, seems to be intelligent, but very windy. Windy, meaning he could likely talk all day without saying anything. No one is talking about the fact that he attends a black supremacy church. We would hear the screams if that were turned around, a white candidate who attends a white supremacy church. For those who will vote based on his dark skin color, his bumper sticker slogans, and 10-second sound bites, he is a choice candidate who fits their depth.

While Obama has charm and skin color as long suits, Hillary is a candidate because she had a charming husband who already served eight years as president. Some women say they will vote for her because she is a woman and that it is time for a woman to be president. She brags about having 35 years of experience. Experience doing what, putting the quietus on all those bimbo eruptions? She has tons of baggage, most filled with dirty laundry.

As soon as John McCain became the obvious front-runner in the Republican race he started repeating himself trying to convince others that he is a conservative. He is conservative like Ted Kennedy. George W. Bush put the Republican Party on life support and McCain is fighting furiously to pull the plug. Frankly I wish both Bush and McCain would just resign their jobs right now and go to Mexico and do some job that the Mexicans won’t do.

Good ole boy Huckabee, like Obama, sounds good. In many ways I would prefer him over the other three although odds makers say he doesn’t have a chance. He is a former pastor, but in my opinion has some twisted theology that prevents me from thinking he would be good for our country. His record as governor in Arkansas shows that he thinks compassion is government taking care of the down trodden. He bent over backwards to encourage illegal aliens to come to Arkansas so he could give them government freebies. Huck even tried to give in-state college tuition rates to children of illegal aliens. The Bible instructs individuals to take care of the poor. Jesus did not say governments have such responsibilities. It is not the government’s responsibility to tax you and give the money to others. Huckabee’s advocating that government take the place of individual Christian compassion is wrong. It is what it is, depending of course, upon what the meaning of is is.

There is not much we can do to prevent a liberal from gaining control of the White House this year, but we should do every thing we can to vote for people in other offices who advocate individual responsibility and small government.

Arrogance or Ignorance?

Editor Craig Mohler told me he didn’t publish my letter printed here because he does not like Rush Limbaugh. (Harry Reid and 40 other Democrat Senators ddidn’t like Rush either.)  So much for objective journalism by Mohler, who more than likely just doesn’t like to see Democrats exposed for who they are.  Ironically, Democrats in Washington tried to silence Limbaugh, and the editor of our small weekly newspaper wanted me silenced for my little “Letter to the Editor.”

Editor,

A recent Zogby poll revealed that the U.S. Congress has an approval rate of only 11 percent. The behavior of Harry Reid, Majority Leader of the Senate, and 40 other Democrat senators earlier this month is an excellent example as to why they have such a low approval rate.

Reid wrote a letter to Clear Channel Communication’s CEO demanding that he repudiate conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh for comments he supposedly made on his radio program. Limbaugh, along with his 20 million listeners, represents a threat to the power of liberal lawmakers over the American people. More than enough proof was available to show that the Reid’s accusation was based upon an outright lie. Nevertheless Reid and 40 other senators signed the letter and sent it to CEO Mark Mays. It was bad enough to lie, but worse was the attempt of 41 U.S. senators to use their position of power to intimate a private citizen. Can you say, “Waste of taxpayer money, and abuse of power.”?

If the most powerful governing body in the most powerful country in the world will do such an outrageous thing in broad daylight, what on earth are they doing behind closed doors to gain more control over your life and mine? I lament that I lack the vocabulary necessary to adequately describe these Washington politicians. And it doesn’t matter whether their actions were rooted in arrogance or ignorance. Either way they are dangerous!

Limbaugh, more intelligent and more honorable than the 41 senators, turned the tables on them. Mark Mays let Limbaugh have the original letter to auction off on eBay with the proceeds going to a military charity to help children. Listed for one week on eBay, the letter sold for 2.1 million dollars, plus Limbaugh matched that amount out of his own pocket giving the charity a total of 4.2 million dollars.

With the bright light of truth shining on Reid’s stupid actions, he didn’t have the good sense to run to a dark corner and hide. Instead, during the last hour of the auction when the bid had exceeded 2 million, Reid stood on the Senate floor and tried to claim credit for helping raise the money for the charity. The letter sold for 2.1 million for the cause of free speech, the very thing Reid and his buddies were trying to suppress. In the name of free speech with my limited vocabulary I say throw the bums out! Considering the dismal record and low approval rating of the Senate we should not stop at 41; I think 100 ousted senators is a good round number.
